Overview
The SVDP VISTA Project strengthens long‑term pathways out of poverty by expanding adult education, workforce development, community assistance systems, and organizational sustainability across Southeast Louisiana. VISTA members will build capacity by developing curricula and tools, improving referral and data systems, supporting outreach and partnerships, and creating infrastructure that enhances SVDP’s ability to serve low‑income residents.
Member DutiesThe Ameri Corps member will build and strengthen centralized volunteer recruitment and engagement systems across multiple service sites. The member will develop recruitment strategies, outreach materials, and tracking systems to support volunteer growth. They will create structured onboarding materials, training toolkits, and workflow documentation to promote consistent volunteer engagement practices. The member will also design data tracking tools, dashboards, and sustainability plans to measure volunteer capacity and ensure continuity beyond the service year.
This work expands organizational capacity to support long‑term poverty reduction efforts.
