Pastor

We are a historical church in a relatively new and paid for church facility in Jasper, IN. Due to denominational differences, we are left with a handful of congregants and a need for an individual to catch the vision for rebuilding this church. We are in the process of associating with the ARPC. There is not a reformed church within a 60-mile radius, so there is a real need to reach out to this community and beyond.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Proclaiming the word of God consistent with the doctrinal standards of the reformed Presbyterian church, and teaching, guiding, and equipping all members, grounded in the full counsel of God and the Gospel in all of life.
• Providing biblical, spiritual, pastoral, and visionary leadership within the framework of the church’s overall vision, mission, and purpose.
• Promoting the spiritual health, growth, and well-being of the congregation through preaching, congregational care, prayer, and administration of the sacraments.
• Providing guidance, mentoring, and perspective to leaders in the church.
• Planning and leading worship services.
• Visiting, comforting, and praying with members who are home-bound.
• Fostering and developing relationships with all congregational members regardless of their position or circumstances.
• Conducting and leading funeral services, and officiating at weddings.
• Demonstrating a commitment to personal spiritual growth, prayer, and on-going development, including joining a small group or care group.
• Committing to regular and open communication with elders and members.
• Demonstrating self-reflection and self-evaluation.
• Providing baptism and marriage preparation.
• Connecting with neighboring organizations and ministries, and participating in community events as approved by the session.
• Supporting the church in its outreach ministry.
