Position Summary

Responsible for supervising all the operations and activities within the Production/Assembly areas. The Supervisor organizes and monitors production. The position is responsible for leading the production team to produce high volumes of production parts in accordance with production targets, quality standards and specifications for each product. Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and a safe working environment is maintained. Executes the production schedule by making efficient use of available labor, equipment and raw material.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure that employees perform their duties in a safe and ergonomically sound manner and adhere to all company's established procedures and policies with respect to operation, health & safety and security.
  • Work closely with the Production Scheduler to ensure manufacturing orders are completed on time according to the schedule to meet all customer requirements.
  • Work with Design and Manufacturing engineering to ensure accurate information is captured in product bill of materials for routings.
  • Communicate with various departments and personnel to drive accurate and efficient workflow, including group meeting attendance, face to face meetings and electronic communication.
  • Maintain all required documentation in an organized fashion that relates to staff performance, production records and safety records.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensure supplies are stocked, including safety equipment, consumables and tooling as required.
  • Request/Report maintenance tasks as required to SRS maintenance tracker.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and ISO 9001 initiatives to improve processes throughout the facility.
  • Work with Design on product development, including sample design builds as needed, and creation of care lists for part-numbered new product.
  • Ensure cross-training/cell rotation is carried out in all production areas.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Monitor departmental staff performance and provide recommendations for growth.
  • Provide coaching and training to staff when needed for optimal performance.
  • Complete and deliver annual performance reviews for departmental staff.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements

The work environment, while performing the duties of this job:

  • Includes both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Regularly exposes the employee to fumes and airborne particles.
  • Regularly exposes the employee to moderate to high noise levels.
  • Regularly is climate controlled.
  • Occasionally moving equipment and mechanical parts.

The physical demands, while performing the duties of this job:

  • Regularly requires computer work.
  • Periodically requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching and handling multiple types of hand and power tools.
  • Periodically requires the employee to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly requires the employee to communicate both verbally and in written form.
Work Schedule
  • The normal work schedule is a 10-hour shift Monday through Thursday.
  • Overtime may be scheduled for up to 10 hours on Friday.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong computer skills and capabilities with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Mechanical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of supervisory experience, preferred.
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing experience, preferred.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing/Continuous Improvement practices and ISO
    9001 standards.
