Fabrication​/Welding Specialist B

Location: New Orleans

Chipton-Ross is seeking 6 Fabrication/Welding Specialist B's for a contract opportunity in New Orleans, LA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• Welding experience (at least year experience minimum)

• Comfortable with heights (contractors will be required to use a JLG lift)

• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprint drawings

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.

Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be comfortable standing, bending down, using lift equipment/heights.

REQUIRED

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK HOURS
FULL TIME/SECOND SHIFT; 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

ADDITIONAL:
This work assignment has been designated as "safety sensitive" by the Client. Contractors assigned to safety sensitive jobs at the Client site must first complete regulatory preplacement requirements prior to reporting to assignment. Additionally, contractors assigned to safety sensitive work will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal mandates.
