Laboratory Technician – Manufacturing Operations
OverviewSupports manufacturing by conducting laboratory analyses, preparing samples, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining equipment. Provides essential data for operational decision-making. May guide less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities- Sample Collection: Collects samples following the Sample Plan.
- Routine Analyses: Performs analyses and prepares calibration standards.
- Instrument Maintenance: Conducts basic calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitors system performance.
- Data Management: Acquires and archives data via LIMS/SAP systems; reports results to clients.
- Quality & Compliance: Follows safety (EHandS), ISO/GMP, and ODMS procedures; suggests process improvements.
- Environmental Duties: Operates waste treatment ponds, conducts pond rounds/outfall sampling.
- Communication: Escalates non-routine issues; documents results clearly.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree/coursework in chemistry or scientific field is a plus.
- Experience:
- Lab or manufacturing experience strongly preferred (industry/manufacturing labs favored).
- Entry-level candidates welcome with strong potential.
- Understanding of lab safety, data integrity, measurements, and instrumentation.
- Stable work history required.
- Technical
Skills: - Experience with LIMS and/or Sample Manager strongly preferred.
- Microsoft Office basics required.
- All laboratory instruments are trainable.
- Personal Qualities:
- Ability to work independently and cover shifts solo as required.
- Must live within reasonable commuting distance (on-site work, rural location).
- Shift: Day shift only; 12-hour rotating schedule (5:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
- Rotation: 4-person team; biweekly pay periods—alternating 36-hour and 48-hour weeks.
- Coverage: Weekend and solo shifts required.
- Training: Initial 8-hour weekday shifts before full schedule.
- Preferred Experience: ISO/GMP knowledge.
- Manufacturing/industrial lab background (not medical lab)
