Baton Rouge, LA Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor daily production and quality metrics as well as operation log books to ensure optimal unit operation and accurate reporting
- Continually optimize production operations to maximize the efficiency and On-Stream-Time of the manufacturing equipment
- Lead safety training, conduct behavior-based safety audits, and provide a strong safety presence in the unit
- Develop and review standard operating procedures to meet ISO 9001 and PSM requirements
- Minimize/eliminate out-of-spec production by ensuring equipment is maintained in the required condition
- Conduct thorough non-conforming product and customer complaint investigations to identify root causes and implement effective corrective/preventive actions to reduce off-spec production and customer complaints
- Investigate causes of waste generation to minimize waste
- Apply troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques to quickly respond to a variety of operational issues
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to minimize production impact
- Identify, communicate, and eliminate production bottlenecks with Engineering/Maintenance to maximize production capacities
- Train salaried and hourly staff on technical matters as appropriate
- Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Chemical manufacturing experience
- PSM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ISO exposure
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative Operations department
