Quality Assurance Technician - Manufacturing

Laitram Machine Shop is seeking an Quality Assurance Technician to work in our Quality Control department. The supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the department’s day-to-day operations, including managing priorities, resources, equipment, workflow, and personnel with the goal of operational excellence. The supervisor will be passionate about individual and team development while consistently meeting customer expectations for delivery, quality, and value. The individual will offer creative solutions to challenges, opportunities, and rapidly changing priorities, with the ability to focus on future planning and project collaboration.

The supervisor ensures that the Laitram Business Philosophy and Continuous Improvement Program are implemented throughout the department.

• Complete CMM programs for production use using PC-DMIS Cad++
• Update old CMM programs with updated revision changes
• Verify fabricated components, weldments, and assemblies meet customer drawing requirements.
• Perform inspections on products, equipment and machinery.
• Assist in QC Audits and Process Monitoring in all Production departments.
• Assist in Factory Acceptance Testing of finished products.
• Record all related Quality Records with regards to verification, testing, auditing, and calibration results.
• Work with different department supervisors using the 8D process for root cause analysis.
• Generate timely Quality Reports as required to insure all Processes are functioning optimally.
• Incorporate and Implement Continuous Improvement and Lean principles in daily work.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in Manufacturing or Fabrication Quality Assurance roles.
• Must be able to read mechanical fabrication drawings
• Must be able to properly use and maintain measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, profilers, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and work proactively in a team environment.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment effectively under pressure.
• Ability to work overtime or weekends as business needs require, with advance notice whenever possible.
• Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 47 lbs

• Ability to track projects, keeping stakeholders informed of progress
• Completed three levels of PC-DMIS Cad++ programming training
• 5 years’ experience programming CMM’s
• Quality Technician, Inspector, or Engineer Certification
• Currently taking classes or interested in taking classes on the above certifications.
