The Maintenance Technician III performs repairs as needed by the department, troubleshoots processes, manages and administers the preventive maintenance program, and assists with machine set ups and rebuilds as needed.

* Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

***** Effectively communicate with crew from previous shift and with the crew of the following shift.
* Prioritize daily workload and assign work as needed; following-up on rush requests.
* Train or mentor new Maintenance Technicians as needed and update training documents.
* Work closely with production Supervisors, line leaders and production crews to answer questions and receive as much information as possible to perform the work successfully.
* Oversee all aspects of the preventive maintenance program:  + Review all production lines and plant systems to ensure required PM’s are entered into the program.  + Efficiently and successfully complete PM tasks as needed.
* Efficiently perform regular and preventative maintenance related to the plant, equipment, and grounds in compliance with standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices, and safety policies as enforced by OSHA.
* Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment during the packaging/production process as needed.
* Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
* Effectively perform and assist in repair or updating and installation of equipment.
* Perform troubleshooting of equipment, including both electrical and mechanical systems.
* Complete and update work orders using in-house systems.
* Complete and maintain routine and preventive records and logs.
* Work closely with production to minimize downtime while maintaining quality.
* Perform buildings and grounds maintenance/up-keep as needed; including snow removal, changing light bulbs and filters, etc.
* Maintain a working knowledge of all plant area processes.
* Accurately read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
* Perform utility inspections (boilers, air systems, WWTP, water systems, ammonia, HVAC, security, etc.), adjusting as needed.
* Perform electrical troubleshooting.##

* Regular contact with suppliers and vendors as well as occasional contact with regulatory agencies for inspections.
