Ferrara/KME are premier manufacturers of fire trucks and emergency response vehicles offering a full line of pumpers, aerials, industrial, wildland, and rescue apparatus. Working hands‑on with both municipal and industrial fire departments, the Ferrara/KME team thrives on diagnosing departments' current apparatus limitations and response needs to custom design the perfect fire apparatus solution that will stand the test of time. - Perform various duties required to fabricate wiring harnesses and install components, circuit modules, relays, diodes and harnesses in a variety of assemblies and chassis units for all types of electronic and electromechanical products.
- Responsible for mechanical assembly and wiring of electrical control panels, AC/DC drives, motors, and other devices.
- Design and fabricate electrical boxes for installation of components.
- Drill, edge‑fill, fit and assemble a variety of detail parts and assemblies, including cutting openings in bodies to accommodate wire and components, using hand tools and power tools.
- Inspect for proper installations and integrity.
- Ability to use general and precision tools such as tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Must read, understand and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, blueprints and schematics.
- Maintain necessary documentation and records.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly.
- Perform assembly operations on structural and mechanical sub‑assemblies, equipment and accessories.
- Perform other work as assigned.
- Must possess a HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
- Must be able to use a tape measure.
- Attention to detail; strong work ethic; team player.
- Must be able to climb, twist, bend and stoop.
- Must have use of hands and be able to work overhead.
- Must be able to stand, squat and grasp.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
