Job SummaryThe Forklift Operator is responsible for moving materials around the warehouse, preparing them for shipping, assisting customers, and ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.
Responsibilities- Load and unload scrap metal materials and cargo
- Transfer materials between locations and manage debris
- Manually move and sort materials, prepare pallets for shipment
- Assist machine operators with signals when moving larger items
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment
- Follow safety protocols and maintain logs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Effective communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5+ years of sit-down forklift experience
- OSHA/Safety certification preferred
Warehouse setting with exposure to weather, loud noise, mechanical parts, and physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, and working in confined spaces.
