Responsibilities
- The Aircraft Mechanic Flight Line Maintenance must possess superior personal integrity, maturity, judgment, and aptitude that facilitates the accomplishment of assigned work functions and cultivates a quality work environment.
- Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Provide training in your specialty/qualification/certifications to other employees.
- Perform a variety of critical maintenance tasks applicable to your specialty/qualification/certifications, including but not limited to:
- Obtain and maintain Plane Captain Certification, Tire and Wheel Qualified, Hydraulic Contamination Qualified, and all other required qualifications/certifications in your classification.
- Cross‑train into other areas within your realm of expertise.
- Work any shift assignment under all weather conditions in accordance with the Hazardous Weather Plan.
- Obtain and maintain Support Equipment (SE) Licenses for required equipment.
- Be capable of working overtime and any assigned shift.
- Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Comply with and participate in the FOD Program.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Tool Control Program.
- Perform off‑site related duties, including detachments when directed.
- Operate the NALCOMIS terminal and document work performed on appropriate forms and records.
- Responsible for the proper use and operation of all PPE.
- Knowledgeable in the requisitioning, turn‑in, and proper packaging of components.
- Utilize the Computerized Self‑Evaluation Checklist (CSEC) as an auditing and reporting tool.
- Conduct receiving, in‑process, and final inspections of equipment and work processes.
- Perform other duties and collateral duty assignments as directed by management.
- Perform aircraft special/scheduled inspections, e.g., washes, 150‑hour inspections.
- Self‑directedly adhere to Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies, and mandated quality assurance standards, security, explosive safety, and other applicable Navy/Air Force and company programs.
- Review and interpret customer technical orders, quality assurance standard practices, maintenance instructions, military specifications, quality procedures (QPL), and comply with all DOD, company, and manufacturer directives/policies.
- Knowledge of general aviation, aviation safety, and practices, and ability to understand and comprehend aviation terms and procedures.
- Minimum 2 years of aircraft experience or military service.
- Valid state driver’s license and capability to pass all government licensing requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
Works in an office‑like environment with extensive sitting, and a flight line environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking. May occasionally lift objects exceeding 30 pounds. Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work conditions range from minimal physical discomfort to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc., especially in high noise environments. May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards.
Licensing & Certification Requirements- Driver license.
