Summary

The Program Manager is a full-time professional position providing high-level support and administrative responsibilities for the Office of the Vice President for Advancement. This role will manage the day-to-day operations of the office and involves but is not limited to: scheduling and calendar management; drafting/editing/handling correspondence; briefing and preparing for meetings and Advancement related activities involving the Vice President; and drive and complete any special projects as directed by the Vice President.

In addition, the Program Manager will be responsible for managing the School of Medicine Board of Governors as well as the Health Sciences Committee of the Board of Tulane. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to meet needs in a high-profile setting. This position will be the central point of coordination for the office of Campaigns and Administration and will work directly with all units reporting into the office as well as high-level leaders within and outside of Advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and calendar management; drafting/editing/handling correspondence; briefing and preparing for meetings and advancement activities involving the Vice President.
  • Drive and complete special projects as directed by the Vice President.
  • Manage the School of Medicine Board of Governors and the Health Sciences Committee of the Board of Tulane.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for the Office of Campaigns and Administration and collaborate with all units reporting to the office and with high-level leaders within and outside of Advancement.
Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple demands and/or projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and work cooperatively with high-level prospects, donors, and volunteers.
  • Ability to make decisions independently, demonstrate initiative and self-starting capacity.
  • Ability to contribute to the yearly strategic planning of the department.
  • Ability to mentor and manage a team.
  • Experience working with sensitive information and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years’ experience in fundraising, project management, or a related field OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years’ directly related experience. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a research university environment.
  • Commitment to the values of an institution of higher education.
  • Knowledge of various software systems, such as Word, Excel, and a prospect management database.

This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 24.
