Overview
The Program Manager is a full-time professional position providing high-level support and administrative responsibilities for the Office of the Vice President for Advancement. This role will manage the day-to-day operations of the office, including scheduling and calendar management; drafting/editing/handling correspondence; briefing and preparing for meetings and advancement-related activities involving the Vice President; and driving and completing special projects as directed by the Vice President.
The Program Manager is responsible for managing the School of Medicine Board of Governors as well as the Health Sciences Committee of the Board of Tulane. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to meet needs in a high-profile setting. It serves as the central point of coordination for the office of Campaigns and Administration and works directly with all units reporting into the office as well as high-level leaders inside and outside of Advancement.
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Vice President for Advancement
- Schedule and manage calendars; coordinate meetings and event logistics
- Draft, edit, and handle correspondence; prepare briefing materials for meetings
- Lead and complete special projects as directed by the Vice President
- Manage the School of Medicine Board of Governors and the Health Sciences Committee of the Board of Tulane
- Coordinate with units reporting into the office and collaborate with high-level leaders within and outside of Advancement
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple demands and projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with high-level prospects, donors, and volunteers
- Ability to make decisions independently, demonstrate initiative, and self-starting capacity
- Ability to contribute to yearly strategic planning of the department
- Ability to mentor and manage a team
- Experience handling sensitive information with strict confidentiality
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years’ experience in fundraising, project management, or a related field
OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years’ directly related experience
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in a research university environment
- Commitment to the values of an institution of higher education
- Knowledge of software systems such as Word, Excel, and a prospect management database
