Position: INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT MANAGER II (SEWERAGE & WATER BOARD) (CLASS CODE 3416)

Overview

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to insure that goals or objectives are accomplished in accordance with prescribed priorities, time limitation, and funding conditions. Infrastructure Project Managers insure effective and efficient management of the project consistent with an established project management cycle and compliance with department guidelines, procedures, and systems; and related work as required.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Original Entrance

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Geology, Chemistry, Biology or related field, or a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field.

Four (4) years of professional construction or technical project management related experience.

Or (alternative) Possession of a current Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) issued by the Project Management Institute and two additional years of project management experience earned after the receipt of a PMP Certification.

Promotional

Permanent status as an Infrastructure Project Manager I and two years of experience in that job classification.

A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.

DOMICILE REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT

Domicile requirements are currently waived for application purposes. All new full-time employees hired into this classification on or after January 1, 2013 must be domiciled in Orleans Parish within 180 days of hire. Airport and public safety employees are excluded.
