- Repair and maintain buildings.
- Perform general maintenance using basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, appliance repair, and electrical wiring.
- Clean walls, ceilings, cooler fans, ice machines, and other similar equipment, as assigned.
- Assemble and utilize items such as storage racks, utility carts, shop vacs, etc.
- Perform general floor care in assigned areas.
- Pressure wash assigned areas.
- Operate and maintain tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities.
- Complete set-ups and tear down for scheduled campus events, where applicable.
- Perform on call duties as needed/assigned.
- Remove snow with shovels, blowers, and plows when necessary.
- Provide logistical support for campus activities and maintain a campus environment that is safe, clean, and conducive to learning, where applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Obeys all safety requirements and procedures at all times.
- Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipment within scope of responsibility.
- Operate and maintain tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities.
- Assist fire drill, lockdown, and other safety exercises.
- Assist in managing traffic flow and parking throughout campus, where applicable.
- Maintains equipment used in performing duties.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC units, troubleshoot, install, repair, and replace when needed.
- Conduct HVAC inspections and change filters as needed.
- Interacts appropriately with residents, clients, other personnel, supervisors and the public.
- Must respond to the paging system in a timely and appropriate manner.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School or equivalent required.
- 3 years of experience in general maintenance.
- 3 years of experience in one or more building trades.
- HVAC position: 3 years of HVAC Experience, where applicable.
- Experience in CMMS software program(s).
- Must submit to a Motor Vehicle Check and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Possess a high level of discretion and the ability to problem solve and think quickly on your feet.
- Enjoy working independently and within a team structure.
- Flexible, dependable and takes ownership of work.
- Possess time management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be flexible, friendly, and able to handle difficult situations.
- Knowledge of maintenance program requirements following initial training.
- Knowledge of and ability to use all department equipment.
- Written (preferred) and oral (required) communication skills.
- Ability to interact positively with students, clients and other personnel and the public.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
