Job Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Production Unit Manager, an Operations Maintenance Coordinator job description involves managing the interface between the maintenance, planning and operations work streams to ensure the scoping and scheduling of the operating department’s maintenance needs are aligned with the production requirements. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills to act as a crucial link between operations and maintenance teams.
The Operations Maintenance Coordinator is vital for enhancing operational efficiency and extending the lifespan of equipment and facilities. By effectively managing maintenance processes, the OMC helps organizations minimize downtime, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity.
- Planning and Scheduling: The OMC is responsible for developing and implementing maintenance schedules to ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained effectively. This includes coordinating regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime.
- Work Order/Notification Management: The OMC manages and tracks maintenance requests and work orders from initiation to completion, ensuring that tasks are prioritized and executed efficiently.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with industry safety standards and legal regulations is a critical part of the OMC's role. They must maintain accurate records of maintenance activities for reporting and decision‑making purposes.

Skills:
Excellent understanding of the operation of the equipment. The planning and organizational abilities of the OMC are essential for managing multiple tasks and schedules simultaneously. - Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of mechanical systems and process interconnectivity is important for overseeing maintenance tasks effectively.

The ability to quickly resolve issues that arise during maintenance operations is crucial. - Communication
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for coordinating with team members, and management.
- At least 3 years of refinery experience strongly preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
- Primarily working outside in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposed to the elements – heat, cold, rain, etc.
- Walking
- Climbing stairs and ladders
- Sitting at a desk and working at a personal computer
This role requires authorization to work in the United States.
