This Port Facility Maintenance Specialist 1, 2 or 3 position serves in facilitating piledriving operations and maintenance as part of the Marine Construction department of the Port of New Orleans Maintenance Division.

Job Duties- Piledriving: Includes, but not limited to, works on floating pile driver barge, replacing and repairing pilings, pilings clusters and wharf structures. Uses gas powered chainsaws, hand saws, power drills, air impacts, jack hammers, cutting torches, hammers and various sized mauls to repair and replace wharf logs, mooring bits and mooring bit bases.
- Repair and Maintenance: Includes but not limited to makes minor repairs and performs daily maintenance on equipment to keep equipment in good working order. Works on land making various repairs to wharves as needed.
- Rigging and Loading: Includes but not limited to loading and unloading timber pilings into floating barges and make various repairs as needed.
- Other Duties: The incumbent is required to perform a variety of tasks and assignments, as directed by the Supervisor, necessary to fulfill the mission of the Fendering Department and/or Port Maintenance Division.

- Work Schedule: Work hours are 10 hour days.
- Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay of up to $1.50 per hour.
