. This janitorial position requires dedicated custodial work to maintain clean and welcoming office and restroom environments.

Cleaning Duties

• Dust and vacuum all carpet and hard‑floor areas in offices and restrooms.
• Sweep, mop, and spot‑clean hard floors and carpets as assigned.
• Remove trash, replace liners, and deliver waste to designated disposal areas.
• Clean and disinfect all restroom surfaces, including paper dispensers, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and shower stalls.
• Maintain garage and outside maintenance areas by sweeping, spot‑cleaning oil and grease spills, and monitoring trash accumulation.

Hard‑Floor and Carpet Cleaning

• Measure spot‑cleaning solution and water in mop bucket and wring out yarn bonnet.
• Spot‑clean carpets using bonnet or rotary machine methods, ensuring correct chemical ratios.
• Shampoo carpets with a self‑contained extractor, filtering chemicals and water as required.

Office Cleaning

• Dust all horizontal surfaces cautiously.
• Vacuum all carpet areas, extending under desks and along walls.
• Clean walls, doors, chalkboards, erasers, and other work surfaces.

Restroom Cleaning

• Refill paper dispensers to full capacity.
• Swab toilet bowls and wipe seats, lids, and sides.
• Clean mirrors, dust metal fixtures, and wipe down sinks.
• Wipe down walls, doorsills, and partitions with disinfectant cleaner.

Garage & Outside Maintenance

• Spot‑clean oil and grease spills with absorbent material.
• Sweep and polch assigned area for debris, using broom, dustpan, and air‑broom if available.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Clean ashtrays and remove buildup.

General

• Report to work on scheduled days and be available for flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

• Interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
• Explain Goodwill’s mission to the public.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Read and communicate clearly in English.
• Work a flexible schedule on short notice, including nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Lift and carry objects up to 10 pounds frequently and 20 pounds occasionally.
• Vision corrected to within normal limits.
• Engage in prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching, and climbing stairs.
• Function in a hectic work environment with periods of high stress.

Training or experience in the custodial field is required. The employee must wear a company‑issued uniform.

Frequent physical exertion; exposure to cleaning chemicals and potentially infectious materials; some duties require working in inclement weather conditions.
