Location: New Orleans
This position reports on-site to our Corporate Office in New Orleans, LA.
Responsibilities- Collect network performance data, monitor network security, and optimize server capacity to manage the flow of information. Perform network upgrades and fix network errors at client locations.
- Determine company needs and coordinate the development and maintenance of network infrastructures with the IT team.
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
- Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
- Enhance network security, and document network processes and cabling layouts.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
- Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security.
- Monitor network performance to determine if adjustments are needed.
- Consult with network users about solving existing system problems.
- Run diagnostic tests and perform repairs, and develop backup, archiving, and data retrieval procedures.
- Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
- Train junior IT staff, prepare user manuals, and provide remote or onsite technical support.
- Maintain, configure, and monitor virus protection software and email applications.
- Ensure secure and stable server connectivity and test network protocols.
- Create internet domains and optimize intranet performance.
- Test data exchange and communication between computers, routers, modems, and servers.
- Install, update, and configure end-user networking accessories.
- Monitor server capacity and performance to keep up with demand in online traffic.
- Stay informed of developments in network technologies and infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or similar.
- Certified CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco network professional preferred.
- A minimum of four years of related experience.
- Extensive knowledge of network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Great organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to visit all company locations.
- Availability to perform network repairs outside of business hours.
- Windows Server 2016/2019, Linux, VM, Power Shell
