Summary/Objective: The IT Coordinator supports Disability Rights Louisiana’s technology operations by maintaining core systems, assisting staff with day‑to‑day technical needs, ensuring data accuracy within DRLA’s case management database, and coordinating directly with DRLA’s third‑party IT provider. This role provides hands‑on support for staff across DRLA offices, as well as remote and field‑based employees, ensuring systems run effectively to support DRLA’s statewide advocacy mission.
The IT Coordinator is not responsible for developing IT policy or managing cybersecurity strategy but plays a key role in implementing established protocols, supporting secure technology use, and ensuring timely resolution of IT issues.
- Maintain and update DRLA’s case management database, including user permissions, data accuracy checks, and basic configuration changes.
- Support system integration needs by coordinating updates or adjustments with Third Party IT Provider or other vendors.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding tasks such as account creation, access setup, and equipment assignment.
- Monitor system performance and escalate issues requiring vendor‑level intervention.
- Direct all hardware, software, connectivity, email, mobile device, printing problems, and security‑related concerns to Third Party IT Provider.
- Coordinate all IT service requests, tickets, and escalations to Third Party IT Provider and track follow‑up until completion.
- Communicate system needs, outages, or user issues clearly and promptly to Third Party IT Provider.
- Assist with scheduling vendor‑supported updates, installations, or system maintenance windows.
- Maintain documentation related to vendor requests and outcomes.
- Support implementation of DRLA’s privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity protocols as established by DRLA leadership and Third Party IT Provider.
- Create simple, user‑friendly guides for staff on key systems, tools, and processes.
- Maintain updated documentation of internal processes, instructions, and system changes.
- Offer annual or bi‑annual refresher training sessions when tools or workflows change.
- Maintain an organized inventory of equipment, devices, and accessories.
- Assist with equipment setup for meetings, presentations, and remote collaboration.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a relevant field required.
- Minimum 2‑3 years of experience providing IT support, database management, or systems administration in an office or nonprofit environment.
- Experience collaborating with third‑party IT vendors or managed service providers (MSPs).
- Working knowledge of cloud‑based systems such as Google Workspace and case management software. Sage experience preferred.
- Familiarity with secure computing practices, AI, and data privacy protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical staff.
