We are currently seeking a Director, IT Solutions to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President of IT Solutions, this role will lead a team responsible for delivering technology solutions that enable and support business operations across North America.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation of software projects, managing internal and external (subcontracted) teams to meet timelines and deliver successful outcomes.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop software engineers to ensure efficient and timely delivery of tasks.
- Establish and enforce best-practice coding standards and testing protocols, ensuring quality assurance in lower environments before deployment to production.
- Oversee business IT change management processes to ensure structured, risk‑aware technology implementations with minimal disruption to operations.
- Direct incident response and problem management, ensuring timely identification, containment, and resolution of IT service disruptions while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts to identify and correct recurring system issues, driving continuous improvement in performance and reliability.
- Analyze complex business needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing technology systems through the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of technical standards and procedures.
- Manage and prioritize team workload effectively.
- Review solution designs, code, and unit testing where applicable.
- Approve business requirements before technical execution and participate in hardware/software evaluations and vendor management.
- Provide training and development programs for IT staff.
- Act as a liaison between business users, operations, and programming teams for system design, modification, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and Dev Ops practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and modern integration technologies (e.g., APIs, microservices).
- Strong knowledge of application security, compliance, and data governance principles.
- Proven ability to align application and IT strategy with business goals.
- Experience leading IT change management, incident response, and root cause analysis to enhance stability and resilience.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills with a focus on developing high‑performing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities; capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear business language.
- Demonstrated success in cross‑functional collaboration and influencing senior leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT, including 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing application development and support.
- Proven track record managing enterprise applications, digital transformation initiatives, or large‑scale software implementations.
- Self‑motivated, adaptable, and collaborative with a positive, solutions‑oriented mindset.
- Willingness to provide after‑hours support during business outages and coordinate response efforts as needed.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
