The Houseperson plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas within accommodation and food service establishments. This position ensures that all rooms are prepared to the highest standards, contributing directly to guest satisfaction and the establishment's reputation. The Houseperson supports the housekeeping team by handling tasks such as cleaning, restocking supplies, and assisting with laundry duties.

They work closely with other departments to ensure timely room turnover and address any maintenance or cleanliness issues promptly. Ultimately, the Houseperson helps create a welcoming and comfortable environment that enhances the guest experience and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial roles within the hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning and sanitation.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and floor polishers.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management for cleaning supplies.
Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, corridors, and public areas according to established standards and procedures.
  • Restock room supplies such as toiletries, linens, and towels to ensure guest needs are met.
  • Assist with laundry duties including collecting, sorting, and distributing linens and uniforms.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department promptly.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and front desk teams to ensure timely room readiness and guest satisfaction.
