Position: INTELLIGENCE ANALYST (CLASS CODE 0732)
Location: New Orleans

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support to the Office of Inspector General (OIG) by planning, coordinating, and documenting investigations, audits, and evaluations.
  • Analyze data from diverse sources to identify trends, patterns, and profiles using established intelligence techniques.
  • Develop estimates, studies, and tactical information that inform citywide investigative decisions.
  • Conduct highly complex analyses that may impact other ongoing cases.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least one (1) year of professional experience in research and/or evaluation, including data collection, analysis, and production of written reports with conclusions; experience may be gained in any relevant field or in an Office of Inspector General.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access for organizing, analyzing, and presenting data.
Exam & Testing

Applicants must complete a written examination (100% weighted) covering Basic Management Principles, Decision‑Making & Organizing, Interpersonal Skills, Written Communication, and Mathematics.

A urinalysis test will be administered to detect illegal drug usage. A background investigation will also be conducted.

Background & Health Screening

Criminal background check will be required. Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate. Candidates may also be asked to undergo substance‑abuse screening and a medical examination as part of standard employment procedures.

Domicile Requirements

Domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. New full‑time employees must be domiciled in Orleans Parish within 180 days of hire. The city may grant domicile exceptions on a case‑by‑case basis.
