We are seeking a dedicated full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Touro Infirmary, located in the Greater New Orleans region. This on-site role involves performing a variety of laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and pathology to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient conditions. The role includes operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control, and adhering to safety protocols.
The Medical Laboratory Scientist will collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret lab results and contribute to patient care decisions.
- Proficiency in Medical Technology processes, with experience in handling laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Strong Laboratory Skills and familiarity with Laboratory Medicine practices to conduct accurate testing and analysis.
- Knowledge in Pathology and the ability to analyze and interpret test results effectively.
- Expertise in Quality Control to ensure all laboratory work meets regulatory standards and maintains accuracy.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field, with ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Previous laboratory experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is an advantage.
