Responsibilities- Assist patients with all billing inquiries across the organization in a face-to-face setting.
- Review all aspects of patient bills and assist with liability collection for upcoming procedures.
- Collect residual and past due balances; review alternate options for benefit coverage for medical and pharmaceutical services.
- Secure authorizations, set up fee arrangements, and backfill for coverage at other locations as needed.
- Ensure the best patient experience through timely and accurate assistance.
- Communicate to patients about schedules, payments, and financial responsibilities; serve as a liaison between patient, providers, and external departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Provide timely and accurate estimates for upcoming procedures and obtain required authorizations.
- Educate patients on available assistance options and the financial impact of alternatives.
- Deliver Best in Class service to every patient inquiry to maintain high levels of patient satisfaction.
- Represent the organization with professionalism to ensure issues are resolved timely and accurately.
- Other related duties as required.
Education
Required - High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred - Bachelor s degree
Work Experience
Required - 1 year of customer service, healthcare, or office experience
Preferred - Previous Healthcare Billing/Collections/Customer Service Experience

Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
- Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly to varying levels of individuals in the patient care process.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and role-specific software.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task; ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure patient financial and medical conversations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions.
- Reliable transportation may be required to travel to other facilities.
- Provide prompt and courteous assistance and accurate information to patients regarding accounts or services face-to-face, via email, fax, mail, or phone.
- Serve as a liaison to ensure charges are applied correctly and balances are resolved within the prescribed period.
- Obtain timely authorizations and provide accurate estimates for upcoming procedures.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work to discuss financial responsibility with patients.
- Educate patients on available assistance options and the financial impact of alternatives.
- Deliver high-quality service to every patient inquiry to maintain satisfaction.
- Represent the organization professionally to resolve patient issues timely and accurately.
- Other related duties as required.
