responsibilities
professional and technical work in developing and implementing safety programs and procedures to mitigate or eliminate occupational health and safety hazards. Meets with supervisors, managers and employees to discuss occupational health and safety issues in their work areas and to assist them in resolving such issues; conducts training for employees on the nature of hazards, warning signs of exposure, medical surveillance and protective measures;
and related as required.
- bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- a valid driver’s license.
- four (4) years professional level industrial or occupational health or safety experience.
- certification by the board for global ehs credentialing is preferred; candidates appointed to this position are required to obtain certification during the probationary period. Failure to receive certification will result in termination.

If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification. A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes;
however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
