The Research Associate 3 (RA3) will plan, organize, and conduct highly independent research under the direction of the Histopathology Microscopy Core Director. The RA3 is responsible for the scientific operations of the laboratory and may train and supervise junior level staff members.
The RA3 will manage and perform Histology Technician duties for the Core lab to include tissue processing, sectioning, advanced detection, imaging, and analysis of gene and protein dynamics in cellular models and normal and cancer tissues from research animals or from patients for all cancer researchers, as well as histochemical and immunohistochemical methodologies to determine protein expression, localization and interactions between viral and cellular proteins.
The RA3 is expected to analyze, summarize and organize collected data, purchase supplies and recommend purchase of new equipment for research projects. The RA3 may also draft, edit, and/or publish results in professional journals.
