This job ensures availability of equipment and supplies for endoscopy/surgical procedures; exhibits skills to scrub for procedures, assist endoscopy; performs other duties assigned by RN. To succeed, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

Education
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program (online programs not accepted) OR 5 years of Surgical Technologist Experience.
Work Experience
  • Required:

    None.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting.
Certifications
  • Required:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
  • Preferred:
    Certification in Surgical Technology.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

(KSAs)
  • Expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, surgery procedures, and instruments.
  • Basic analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in computers, software, and web applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on‑call availability).
Job Duties
  • Performs direct patient care duties.
  • Organizes activities and supplies based on surgery schedule and daily needs.
  • Provides care to patients within supervisory guidance.
  • Communicates patient care needs to patients, families, and co‑workers.
  • Maintains required clinical knowledge, skills, training and credentials.
  • Adapts to rapid changes in department caused by census, patient acuity, and resources.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
