Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) – Webster, Tx
Join Texas Oncology, the largest community oncology provider in the United States, to support patients at our Webster, Texas location. This role supports the medical team, ensuring efficient patient flow and high‑quality care.
OverviewWe are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to perform clinical, administrative, and supportive duties. The position may be Level I, II, or Senior depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Escort patients to exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
- Record patient data before each visit: vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes.
- Obtain necessary records for physician before treatments or procedures.
- Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms; order supplies as needed.
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
- Maintain disinfection protocols for exam/treatment rooms.
- Answer patient telephone calls, including referrals to physicians or pharmacists.
- Process prescription orders and other patient calls as directed.
- Inform physicians of reschedules and no‑shows.
- Perform administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc.
- Enter orders under provider direction when authorized.
- Level I:
High‑school graduate or equivalent; preferred certification from an accredited medical assistant program; 0–3 years experience; current BLS certification;
Certified Medical Assistant preferred. - Level II (in addition to Level I):
Minimum 3 years experience; phlebotomy experience preferred;
Certified Medical Assistant preferred. - Level Senior (in addition to Levels I & II):
Minimum 5 years experience in a clinical setting; current BLS certification required.
Requires full range of motion; may lift and carry up to 40 lbs; must stand and walk for long periods; requires corrected vision and hearing.
Work EnvironmentExposure to communicable diseases, toxins, ionizing radiation, and other oncology clinic hazards may occur.
