Clinical Social Service DirectorThe Clinical Social Service Director assumes responsibility for the functioning and communication within the social service department. The Clinical Social Worker participates as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, implementing and supervising social service interventions for patients. They oversee interventions performed by other disciplines within the social service department, including Discharge Planners, Case Managers, and Activity Therapists. The Clinical Social Worker collaborates with other clinical departments through consultation with medical staff, the Director of Nursing (DON), and nursing staff.
They work to facilitate resolution of concerns within the patient population and ensure that services, programming, and social needs meet the highest quality of care. The Clinical Social Worker understands and interprets facility policies to ensure adherence and demonstrates extensive knowledge of a wide range of disorders—cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral. Additional duties include crisis intervention, conducting special case conferences, family communication, and leading treatment team processes.
They maintain performance improvement activities within the department and participate in Quality Management (QM) activities.
The Clinical Social Worker adheres to the highest ethical standards concerning patient care and rights. They facilitate communication with outside agencies to ensure patients' rights, care, and needs are met. They also assist with formulating the social service department's budgetary needs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience- Education: Master’s in Social Work from an accredited school or LPC
- License: Licensed through the State by the regulatory body authorized to issue social work licenses
- Experience: At least one year of experience performing duties as a Social Worker or LPC in a behavioral health setting
Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 (depending on experience), with additional performance bonuses up to $500 a month.
