Responsibilities- Promotes Quality:
Maintains a safe environment for all employees and patients. Wears appropriate radiation safety gear and participates in performance improvement activities. Develops action plans to correct deficiencies and provides ongoing quality assurance for imaging. - Confirms patient identity, body part, and side before procedures. Positions patients for specific studies, immobilizes as required, and selects proper technical factors. Operates radiographic equipment and applies ALARA radiation protection principles.
- Assists in contrast administration and exams as directed. Coordinates with Radiologists to support diagnosis. Processes and sends images to PACS and documents information per guidelines. Ensures safety regulations protect patients, staff, and visitors.
- Demonstrates pediatric-specific skills and approaches to ensure high-quality exams while prioritizing patient comfort and protection.
- Maintains designated work area, reports equipment malfunctions, assists in first aid when needed, practices sterile technique, and manages inventory and cleaning of exam rooms and equipment. Performs daily equipment checks and escalates downtime to the Director as needed.
- Attends mandatory in-service education and adheres to OSHA standards, including donning required PPE. Participates in Radiology Department meetings and communicates daily activities and updates as required.
- Licensed by LSRTBE as a General Radiographer or with a temporary LSRTBE permit as a General Radiographer
- Registered by ARRT (R) (CT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required from the American Heart Association
