Overview
Responsible work assisting the Recreation Center Manager in leading recreational activities and other program functions within a NORDC Recreation Center; and related duties as required.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours from an accredited college or university.
- Permanent or probationary status as a Recreation Leader, Assistant and one (1) year of experience in that classification with NORDC.
- Two (2) years of experience instructing individuals or groups in either a recreational or educational setting.
Education verification is required prior to appointment. Applicants must provide original documents of qualifying credentials before starting. A rating of training and experience weighted 100% will be used; credit is given for related experience within the last ten years.
This is a promotional and original entrance examination. A one-year probationary period applies.

Domicile requirements:
Domicile requirements are waived for applications. New full-time employees must be domiciled in Orleans Parish within 180 days. Airport and public safety employees are excluded. Additional exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
Background Check:
The hiring department will conduct interviews prior to requesting a criminal background check. Employment may be contingent on a successful background investigation. Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate.

Required for original entrance probationary appointments to active/non-active classifications as applicable.
Good Moral Character:
Required of all applicants. Forgery or misrepresentation may lead to disqualification.
