Banking Intern

Major Function:

Performs assigned duties and responsibilities throughout the various departments of the bank to learn the banking process and operations of each department. Serves as back‑up to several departments within the bank. Available to be inserted into roles or positions as needed in event of absence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops a working knowledge of bank administration, operations, lending and customer service through on‑the‑job training.
  • Become familiar with bank policies and procedures through reading supervisory, technical, and procedural manuals, reports and publications related to the banking industry. Attends internal and external training sessions.
  • Introduction to banking regulations and compliance with regulations.
  • Promotes a positive bank image within the community.
  • Works to develop management and administrative skills.
  • Assists other employees/departments/branches to promote teamwork and good communication.
  • Completes special projects assigned by supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma with some post‑secondary education or training.
  • Expected post‑secondary graduation in 2026 or 2027 preferred.
  • Interest in a banking career a plus.
  • Knowledge of Agriculture a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Basic computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Foundation in accounting principles as they relate to banking.
  • Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently or in groups.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Schedule:
  • Up to 40 hours per week based on schedule
