Job SummaryMonitors, maintains and completes key financial functions, and participates in the reporting processes.
As a member of Entergy’s Finance Business Partners group, assists with budget, financial forecasts, reporting of actual financial results and variance explanations, financial statement analysis, controls, as well as highlighting key issues and exposing items that may impact profitability.
Supports Operational Finance Director (OFD) with key regulatory activities and one‑off filings in order to achieve company’s strategic goals.
Participates in process improvement projects and special projects to support Operating Companies as well as functional customers. The successful candidate will be “forward thinking” with both a detail orientation and the ability to think strategically.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Collaborate with various teams to develop ad‑hoc decision‑making models based on accounting, regulatory and other financial information.
- Propose necessary updates to the established system to better reflect updated information related to new and ongoing strategic initiatives. Document process and ensure model outputs remain accurate.
- Query data, create analyses, provide analytical support and develop presentations.
- Gain understanding of regulatory structure and support regulatory filing processes including but not limited to testimony, regulatory work papers and exhibits.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to benefit greater team.
- Communicate with other departments to gather information about Entergy’s businesses and transactions.
- Communicate with subject matter experts across the company to better understand the risk of certain projects and/or investments.
- Work in collaboration with business units to assess industry/market trends, regulatory strategies, and to prepare financial comparative data for use in decision making.
- Financial Analyst III: 4+ years of business experience in banking, finance, project development or related fields.
- Financial Analyst Lead: 5+ years of business experience in banking, finance, project development or related fields.
- Financial Analyst Sr Lead: 6+ years of business experience in banking, finance, project development or related fields.
- MBA is a plus.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision or within a team environment.
- Ability to analyze problems and create solutions.
- Significant knowledge of financial theory and valuation.
- Ability to understand and solve complex financial transactions.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple time‑sensitive projects effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of financial theory and valuation.
Desired: CPA, CFA, PE or similar certificates/licences.
