SummaryThe Assistant Dean for Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for all financial affairs and financial data reporting and analytics for the A.B. Freeman School of Business. The Assistant Dean develops the School’s annual budget, monthly financial reconciliations, and provides financial and budgetary projections and guidance to the Dean, Chief Business Officer, and other members of the Dean’s leadership team. The assistant also acts as the School’s primary financial data officer, supporting and coordinating with other units on the School’s responses to surveys and reports related to financial reporting, and provides data analyses as requested by the dean and leadership team.
RequiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong financial/accounting knowledge and skills, including familiarity with non‑profit accounting systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in computer software applications such as financial spreadsheets, database management, and specialized financial and budgetary systems utilized by educational institutions.
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment with senior‑level School and University staff and administrators.
Education and/or Experience
- Masters of Business Administration or CPA Certification plus five (5) years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, data analytics, or relevant field and seven (7) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in the financial operations of an institution for higher education.
