Nestled at the corner of Canal Street and Magazine Street, and less than 350 yards from the original Sazerac Coffee House, The Sazerac House will be New Orleans’ most memorable destination offering an enriching sensory experience that embodies the city’s spirited and historic character. The Sazerac House will take its visitors through a journey of the history and culture of spirits in New Orleans showcasing the company’s brands relevant to the city of yesterday and today.

Position

Summary

The part‑time Experience Ambassador is responsible for creating a welcoming, entertaining and educational atmosphere for all visitors of the Sazerac House and internal customers. This person provides exceptional customer service and is recognized as an advocate of the Sazerac House featured brands and spirited experience.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures exceptional customer service is provided to all Sazerac House visitors, creates a welcoming atmosphere, is attentive and available to assist visitors, follows up on visitor inquiries, anticipates their needs, thanks visitors and extends an offer to return, is knowledgeable about featured products, gift shop merchandise, and special events, and makes suggestions to management to enhance tours and expand sales opportunities.
  • Anticipates traffic flow and ensures adequate inventory of sampling tools for daily sampling, provides information and entertainment to help create “raving fans,” continually seeks improvements in tours and sampling stations, acts as an advocate for The Sazerac House in the local community, and ensures adherence to safety and quality policies.
  • Monitors exhibit floor crowd flow, ensures visitors feel welcome and safe, stocks sampling stations, processes daily orders of supplies and liquor, oversees execution of samples, listens to visitor feedback, assists with training new ambassadors and shop associates, and maintains clean, organized storage rooms.
  • Keeps exhibit floors and sampling stations organized, stocked, and clean; recommends merchandise based on visitor feedback.
  • Creates and develops a personal development plan with management to improve skills and performance.
  • Collaborates with gift shop associates and ambassadors to generate revenue and build fan base.
  • Monitors inventory of liquor, sampling tools, and supplies, reorders as necessary, and participates in the VIP and group visitor program.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a bartender, educator, tour guide, front‑of‑house restaurant staff, docent, historian, concierge, alcohol production, marketing, brand ambassador, or public relations.
  • Ability and willingness to work non‑traditional hours (nights/weekends).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to project a professional and approachable image.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2 years of Wine and Spirits or Hospitality industry experience.
  • 1 year experience dealing with VIP guests.

Minimum Salary: USD $14.90 per hour.
