Location: New Orleans

Lead OSHA Process Safety Management Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Program.

  • Perform PHAs for new/modified systems; revalidate PHAs every 5 years.
  • Lead overall process hazard analysis recommendation resolution.
  • Analyze new systems, equipment, and proposed design changes for Process Safety Management.
  • Review changes to processes and methods for process hazard analysis impact.

    • Perform specialized technical safety analyses.

  • Perform facility siting studies for placement of temporary and permanent facilities
  • Perform non-PHA process hazard analyses/risk assessments.
  • Provide safety analyses for new processes and methods or revisions to existing processes and methods.

    • Assure compliance with DOE safety engineering requirements.

  • Perform gap analysis of orders.
  • Update programs for compliance with orders.
  • Support safety and risk program.

    • Lead the Upset Response Program.

  • Analyze new upset conditions and develop responses.
  • Review and update Upset Response Manuals.
  • Prepare / approve assigned site operational procedures.
    • Position will be filled depending on experience Lead position requires 10 years, Senior-7 years of experience. REQUIRED:

    Bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the chemical or petroleum industries in process engineering/process safety management under OSHA standard 29 CFR . Experienced PHA facilitator. Strong written and oral communication skills required to develop presentations, analytical reports, technical correspondence, and lead teams.

    DESIRED:

    Professional Engineer with experience in the chemical or petroleum industries in process engineering and process safety. Experience with design and operation of process systems including piping, valves, pipeline systems and pumping equipment. Experience with siting studies and risk appraisals. Experience with PHAWorks or similar software.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES

    Preference is given to candidates who hold an LA or TX Professional Engineer license
