PositionSenior Project Management Specialist (Level
4) to join the Space Launch System (SLS) team in New Orleans, LA.
- Lead, develop, coordinate, integrate, analyze and maintain integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change‑driven activities in accordance with project management industry standards.
- Lead studies and analysis (trend, variance, impact), reports, risk assessments and planning efforts to determine impacts and constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, and program initiatives.
- Identify risk and opportunity potential, develop mitigation planning and refine the business case.
- Develop and establish lead‑time requirements.
- Facilitate and ensure integration of project/program plan, schedules, change and baseline management, and best‑practice processes.
- Act as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
- Direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
- Coordinate commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies.
- 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross‑functional or cross‑business unit teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- 3+ years of experience using project management skills to drive performance to plan and results.
- 3+ years of experience collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources, interpreting data, and presenting analysis and recommendations to management.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership.
- Experience with NASA Space programs or related Space or Defense programs.
- Experience using Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and associated processes and methods.
- Experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal & external) and government customers and representatives.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
There is no relocation assistance; candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. Some travel may be required up to 15%. The position is 100% onsite, 1st Shift, and is a NASA safety‑sensitive role subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Candidates must be able to obtain access to a NASA facility and meet U.S. export control compliance requirements (U.S. Person defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15).

Summary pay range: $118,150 – $159,850.
