Location: New Orleans
The Senior Procurement Manager plays a critical role in supporting industrial field service operations by leading and executing procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services. This position ensures the timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of critical supplies while maintaining strong supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement. Serving as a strategic partner to field operations, the Senior Procurement Manager collaborates cross-functionally to align procurement with project schedules, resolve supply issues, and mitigate risk in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
The role also champions procurement best practices, safety, and operational excellence across all purchasing functions.
- Promote and comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Lead and manage procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services across multiple industrial field service projects and operational projects.
- Drive the implementation of procurement best practices and support a culture of continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier and subcontractor capabilities, quotes, bids, and performance—especially related to responsiveness, technical accuracy, and delivery to field locations.
- Execute tactical and strategic sourcing activities to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of tools, consumables, and critical materials for field teams.
- Analyze procurement data and supplier performance metrics to support department KPIs and continuous improvement efforts.
- Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders, service agreements, and change orders aligned with field schedules and evolving site needs.
- Rapidly resolve supplier issues related to pricing, quality, delivery delays, or damaged goods to minimize field service disruptions.
- Continuously monitor and improve procurement systems, processes, and documentation to enhance field responsiveness and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with field operations, project managers, and site supervisors to forecast needs, align procurement with schedules, and ensure material readiness.
- Present procurement insights, status reports, and recommendations to internal stakeholders, including field leadership and operations teams.
- Identify and qualify alternative vendors and sources to support urgent needs and reduce supply risk in remote or time-sensitive environments.
- Act as a subject matter expert on industrial field service supply markets, equipment sourcing, and logistical constraints relevant to field operations.
- Partner with Legal and Management to negotiate service agreements and terms, ensuring compliance and readiness for mobilization or construction activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support dynamic project and field service requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Construction Management, Engineering or Business and 10+ years related experience with demonstrated leadership and improvement results.
- Supply Chain Certification (CSCP, CSCM, CPP, etc.) or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated progressive experience and career advancement in Industrial construction/EPC industry and/or best‑in‑class supply chain company.
- Strong data analysis and advanced problem‑solving skills.
- Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite, especially Excel.
- Experience using and leveraging industry specific software and data mining from ERP software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical documents.
- Advanced understanding of terms, nomenclature and business models used in the construction industry.
- Ability to be accurate, precise, and follow set procedures and standards.
- Excellent collaboration skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization and with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ability to identify, develop, and evaluate a strong and reliable supplier network.
- Ability to demonstrate proven results with contract negotiations and strategic sourcing strategies.
- Strong project management skills in support of cross‑functional team activities.
- Must be able to travel up to 25%+ of the time or as required by the business.
