K is seeking a DRAFTER / CAD Operator to support our SPACE SUIT for K s Science and Space division. This is a temporary position for six months. The DRAFTER / CAD Operator will work on a collaborative team developing, building and maintaining Space Suits and supporting equipment for low Earth orbit and beyond.
Responsibilities- Using CAD software, such as Draftsite and Solid Works, prepare models and technical drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings that meet specifications.
- Write related technical documents such as material lists and cost estimates.
- Ensure that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards.
- Maintain a library of standard drawing templates.
- Update existing drawings as new information becomes available.
- Prepare and present designs at design reviews using MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Produce other required design documentation.
- Understand nominal production processes.
- Manage multiple issues at one time and develop integrated solutions.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
- Education: Associate s degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), or a related field.

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of recent and related work experience. - In lieu of degree: Candidates with 5 years of relevant work experience will be considered.
- Candidate must possess excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated skill in using CAD/drafting equipment and software in design work.
- Ability to collaborate well with peers, cross-functional teams, and external customers.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Windows & Office).
- Experience with Solid Works, Draftsite and PDM.
- Ability to examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to standards.
- Familiarity with JSC-STD-8080, Design and Procedural Standards.
