Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Department Lead to manage and guide a mechanical design team supporting engineering projects from concept through execution. This role sets CAD standards, drives design excellence, and ensures quality, consistency, and efficiency across projects.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a mechanical design team
- Establish and implement CAD standards and best practices
- Oversee design quality, consistency, and technical compliance
- Coordinate design resources, schedules, and project priorities
- Lead design reviews and CAD setup activities
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines and software vendors
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with 9+ years of design experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience
- Experience managing design professionals and engineering workflows
- Strong knowledge of CAD tools, standards, and design processes
- Drafting & Design background
- Experience leading CAD system transitions
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
