Job Summary /PurposePerforms a wide variety of planning, maintenance, design engineering, project management and construction, and operations activities related to routine, non‑routine, and emergency restoration duties. Projects may include grid/system design, operations and maintenance, planning, asset management, reliability, computer applications, safety, and root cause failure analysis.
Job Duties /Responsibilities- Perform scoping/design/engineering activities throughout the stage‑gate process, including assisting with the preparation of construction contracts, construction schedules, cost tracking, progress reporting and project team coordination within a strong matrix organization to facilitate safe construction of facilities for both internal and external customers.
- Perform technical reviews of distribution design packages issued for construction.
- Coordinate Distribution Line Construction projects, establishing sequenced schedule duration outages, preparing construction estimates, identifying resources (internal or contract), preparing contractual agreements, fostering and policing safety measures, performing quality assurance/control, verifying invoices, completing as‑builts, and project closeout.
- Assist Design Engineering, Right of Way and Vegetation groups with project deliverables as needed.
- Provide engineering field technical support to distribution line construction crews.
- Ensure adherence to Resiliency and Grid Modernization standards and applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
- Provide monthly accrual updates.
- Identify safety hazards, eliminate/mitigate hazards, develop project scopes and estimates, constructability review, material tracking, contract proposals, environmental compliance tactics, schedule coordination, outage identification/coordination, deficiency resolution, quality assurance, cost reporting, issue resolution, and project closure.
- Allocate time across three major categories: support of the capital work management process (40%), compilation of the project and construction execution plan (40%), and field inspection for scoping and adjustments (20%).
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial) from a four‑year accredited institution. Degrees in engineering technology with PE may be considered.
Minimum Experience Required- Engineer I – 0 to 2 years in an engineering discipline.
- Engineer II – 2+ years in an engineering discipline.
- Engineer III – 4+ years in an engineering discipline.

- Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, changing priorities, and work well under pressure.

- Demonstrate acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base.
- Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and enact change.
- Preferred: EIT or PE.
