We are seeking an experienced Scheduler with a strong background in major capital projects within utility infrastructure, oil & gas, or large-scale industrial environments
. In this contract role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing critical path method (CPM) schedules to ensure timely execution and alignment with project scope, budget, and risk objectives.
This position requires expert-level Primavera P6 proficiency
, deep knowledge of CPM-based scheduling methodologies (non-Agile), and the ability to collaborate closely with project controls, engineering, procurement, and construction teams on complex capital programs.
This role is office-based in New Orleans, Louisiana (5 days per week), with required travel to The Woodlands, TX approximately every 2–3 weeks to support corporate and project coordination activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain detailed Primavera P6 CPM schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Perform critical path, float, and what-if analyses to proactively identify schedule risks and mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress, update schedules, and validate logic ties, activity sequencing, and resource loading.
- Provide schedule forecasts, trend analyses, and performance metrics to project leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project controls, cost management, risk, and project management teams to integrate schedule data into broader reporting frameworks.
- Prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports
, dashboards, and variance analyses. - Support change management
, including schedule impact assessments and recovery plan development. - Participate in risk reviews, schedule workshops, and progress meetings.
- Ensure scheduling practices align with organizational standards, CPM methodology, and EPC best practices

- 10+ years of scheduling experience on major capital projects
. - Proven experience supporting utility infrastructure, oil & gas, or large industrial EPC projects
. - Expert-level Primavera P6 proficiency with a strong foundation in CPM scheduling (non-Agile).
- Demonstrated experience developing fully logic-driven, resource-loaded schedules.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to interface across disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
