As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will lead commercial mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will manage all phases of mechanical scope, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems, by coordinating with internal engineers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and owners’ representatives. Drawing on the firm’s strong design–build culture and deep in‑house capabilities, you will help translate engineered solutions into constructible, cost‑effective systems that perform over the life of the building.
Your day-to-day will involve reviewing drawings and specifications, developing and tracking budgets, sequencing work, resolving field issues, and driving progress meetings. You will be a central point of contact for clients, responsible for aligning expectations, managing changes, and proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
Responsibilities- Manage commercial mechanical projects (HVAC, piping, and plumbing) from planning through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets are met.
- Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications; coordinate with in‑house engineers and design partners to validate scope and constructability.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, and change orders; monitor financial performance and proactively address variances.
- Create and manage project schedules, coordinating with field supervision, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to optimize sequencing and manpower.
- Lead regular project meetings with owners, design teams, and internal stakeholders; provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and issue resolution.
- Oversee procurement of mechanical equipment and materials, working with purchasing teams and vendors to meet project requirements and lead times.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, industry codes, and company standards across all project activities.
- Support start‑up, commissioning, and turnover of mechanical systems, ensuring documentation, training, and punch list items are completed to client satisfaction.
- 3+ years of experience managing commercial mechanical projects (HVAC, piping, and/or plumbing) with a mechanical contractor or similar environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, drawings, and specifications, including coordination with electrical and plumbing scopes.
