ResponsibilitiesAs a senior structural engineer within our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll work on a variety of projects related to data centers, including new builds, retrofits, colocations, and other capital projects. You will perform various aspects of structural engineering assignments, expanding your familiarity with design methods and tools. You’ll collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and designers, liaison with other internal professionals and design departments, and coordinate designs with Jacobs offices abroad.
You will play a key role in delivering quality solutions and growing your leadership experience.
- Perform a variety of analyses.
- Create computer models for structures.
- Perform calculations for member designs and foundations, prepare material take‑offs for estimating, and support schedules.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Eight or more years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer, able to become registered in additional states.
- Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, and S3D.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.
- Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry‑relevant design codes and standards.
- Knowledge of Building Codes.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including MS Teams.
- Ability to travel to client sites (approx. 10–20% travel).
- Master of Science in Engineering.
- Experience with industrial metals projects, such as casting, rolling operations, or similar heavy‑industrial projects.
- Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and within budget while meeting quality and client expectations.
