Location: Hackberry

We invite experienced engineers to join Cameron LNG as a Senior Engineer, Process. This role reports to the Process Engineering Team Lead and focuses on operations, production optimization, and process safety at the Hackberry, LA facility.

This position is located in Hackberry, LA.
Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) is required. Employees must reside within a one‑hour drive from the plant site to ensure prompt response times.

Primary Purpose

Provide Process Engineering expertise and operations support to the Cameron LNG facility, focusing on production optimization and ensuring process integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to operations such as troubleshooting, problem analysis, incident investigation, shutdown/start‑up, and turnaround support.
  • Develop and review internal procedures for execution by own department or for others.
  • Provide process engineering services in the form of Process Safety Assessment (PSA), HAZOPs, Bow‑ties and LOPA analysis. Responsibilities include logging, tracking, and closeout of any actions generated from the aforementioned reviews.
  • Work closely with the operations team to troubleshoot day‑to‑day issues, optimize production and efficiency, perform test runs to determine operating boundaries and run lengths, and ensure that any changes to feed gas quality do not compromise fuel gas quality.
  • Provide support to plant management including leading special initiatives, detailed analysis, economic feasibility and quantification, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and executing detailed definition and design of major and minor plant changes.
  • Coach and develop new hire process engineering staff to ensure the minimum competency levels are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with technology and service providers through networking and execution of studies and projects.
  • Interact closely with the laboratory to ensure methods, limits and sample schedules provide correct feedback for supporting production, engineering and various process test‑runs.
  • Apply knowledge of utility system benchmarking, KPIs, and target setting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering is required. A Professional Engineering License in good standing with the state of Texas or Louisiana is beneficial.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of process plant operations experience within the oil and gas industry. Experience in LNG and/or gas processing plants is a plus.
  • Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
    • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Knowledge of UniSIM or equivalent software.
    • High level of safety awareness and knowledge of applicable design regulations.
    • Computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, Adobe Acrobat Professional), SharePoint, etc.
    • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to be diplomatic and persuasive.
    • Ability to communicate fluently in English.
    • Organized and able to manage multiple activities timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Self‑starter with the ability to work strategically with minimal direction.
    • Driven to meet and exceed performance parameters and work deadlines.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
    • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergencies. Understands and deals comfortably with a sense of urgency.
    • Demonstrates high ethical standards for honesty, truthfulness and integrity.
    • Ability to interface with a culturally diverse range of personnel with varying disciplines, backgrounds, and experience levels.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with terminal facility employees, vendors, and suppliers.
    • Possesses the personality and ability to relate to and establish a mutually respectful relationship with management, peers, and facility level workers who are all responsible for ensuring good operations.
