We provide consulting services for utilities across the United States, and we are looking for a customer-centr­ic individual to join our team as an Energy Advisor for the Energy Smart New Orleans Program, providing direct customer outreach.

The Energy Smart New Orleans Program helps businesses save money and energy by offering rebates and support for upgrading to more efficient equipment, including lighting, HVAC, and more. It’s a great way for medium‑to‑large businesses to cut costs and be more sustainable. The program covers a wide range of energy‑saving improvements and offers both prescriptive and custom incentives, depending on the project.

Businesses can get help identifying opportunities, navigating the application process, and maximizing their savings.

About the Position

The Energy Advisor will be responsible for sourcing energy efficiency opportunities through an outbound sales approach, including calls, emails, and in‑person outreach efforts. This role is perfect for a Rockstar that wants to hunt, “own the role” and thrives in a competitive environment. You will be responsible for qualifying opportunities, marketing to potential clients both virtually and in‑person, building relationships with stakeholders across several business sectors, and achieving annual energy savings targets.

You will participate in foundational conversations, promote the Energy Smart New Orleans Program, and work to expand awareness and adoption of the program.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Source energy efficiency opportunities through a multifaceted approach to include outbound sales calls, emails, presentations, and in‑person outreach efforts to meet annual energy savings targets.
  • Schedule and regularly attend virtual and in‑person meetings with prospective customers and stakeholder organizations.
  • Act as the customer’s advocate to ensure the customer obtains accurate knowledge of energy efficiency rebate programs in the marketplace.
  • Increase customer awareness of bottom‑line benefits resulting from energy conservation solutions.
  • Cultivate and develop new business through relationships with professional organizations and trade allies.
  • Apply knowledge of additional state and federal funding programs to drive deeper energy savings.
  • Maintain and update information in our lead management system.
  • Attend and participate in networking events, conferences, and speaking engagements, including occasional evenings, overnights, or weekends.
  • Support traditional and digital marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Provide support to the Outreach Manager as needed.
  • Participate in MDEA activities, including team meetings and required training.
  • Assist with other projects and adapt to changing program priorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University or equivalent.
  • 1‑3 years of sales or outreach experience with a strong customer‑centric mindset.
  • Excellent presentation skills including good listening, probing, and qualification abilities.
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client service orientation. Ability to connect quickly with others and establish rapport.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to work well in a fast‑paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Ability and openness to travel within the Entergy New Orleans service territory; must have a current, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of motor vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on successful energy efficiency programs.
  • Expertise in energy efficiency technologies and products (especially commercial energy‑efficient measures), energy issues in existing commercial and industrial buildings, and US policies for energy efficiency.
