PECHS Student InternStudent Worker; Ages 16

The Peace Works Program is a school-based, Work-based learning program that provides students with access to learning workforce skills. This begins with the students going through the application process, completing a resume and a mock-interview. After staffing, students engage in a variety of workforce tasks throughout the school under the guidance of school staff members.

This student employee position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for this role will consist of an estimated 12.5 hours a week (2.5 hrs/day after school for 5 days a week), additionally students are eligible to work on non-attendance days (Report Card Pick Up or during Breaks) for an anticipated period of 6 months beginning at the start of the school year and ending at the close of the school year.

• Inventorying library, classroom books, and school uniforms
• Restocking the school supply closet
• Restocking the school uniform closet
• Inventorying, restocking, and caring for the Care Closet
• Restocking Care Carts in student bathrooms
• Washing rental uniforms
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to apply critical thinking skills when faced with challenges in order to problem solve and arrive at a solution
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with school staff and peer students as an active member of a team
• Proficient in the use of digital technology (ex: basic computer skills)
• Capable of maintaining professionalism in various situations
• Strong work ethic and drive to successfully complete assigned tasks

To qualify for this student worker position, candidates must be actively enrolled PECHS students in good academic standing. A valid work permit will be required for students under the age of 16.
