Description
Tulane University’s Program of Nursing is seeking a Director of Academic Affairs to lead and support the academic operations of our Nursing Program. Responsibilities include managing key academic systems such as Course Leaf/CLSS, Banner, and the Catalog to maintain accurate schedules, student records, and program information. This position coordinates course, clinical, and simulation schedules to ensure alignment between didactic and clinical instruction.
The role oversees student clinical placements in collaboration with the Clinical Placement Coordinator, negotiates affiliation agreements, and develops strategic plans for clinical site utilization while maintaining strong partnerships with healthcare organizations. Working closely with the Dean and Assistant Dean, this position ensures policies, handbooks, and onboarding processes are current and effective, and supports recruitment, mentoring, and development of faculty. Additional duties include guiding faculty development, implementing curriculum tools such as ATI, Exam Soft, and Project Concert, and fostering innovative student enrichment activities that reflect the cultural and community values of New Orleans.
The Director supervises key staff, addresses academic progression and integrity issues, serves on committees, and teaches, as needed. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on nursing education and student success in a vibrant, mission-driven environment.
