RequirementsQualifications
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Science Education, or a related field. - Experience:
Previous classroom teaching experience is required, with a demonstrated ability to manage laboratory‑style learning environments. - Competencies:
Strong understanding of the scientific method, NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) alignment, and the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners. Knowledge of the Amplify curriculum is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Instructional Delivery:
Implement and facilitate science lesson plans focused on inquiry‑based learning, ensuring students meet established curricular benchmarks in life, earth, and physical sciences. - Lab Management:
Organize and supervise hands‑on experiments and STEAM activities, ensuring safety protocols are strictly maintained. - Curricular
Collaboration:
Adapt and modify existing lesson plans in collaboration with the grade‑level team to address the specific developmental needs of 3rd and 4th‑grade girls. - Assessment & Evaluation:
Utilize rubrics to assess student mastery of scientific concepts and provide constructive, timely feedback to support growth. - Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of student progress and draft narrative report card comments in partnership with the Lower School head. - Community Engagement:
Maintain professional and effective communication with colleagues, students, and parents regarding student progress and classroom initiatives.
Fulfill part‑time campus duties (e.g., transition monitoring or recess) as designated by the Lower School administration.
